Numb3rs este o drama despre un agent FBI care il recruteaza pe fratele sau, un matematician genial, pentru a rezolva o o gama foarte larga de cazuri criminale in zona Los Angeles-ului. Cei doi abordeaza cazurile din perspective total opuse. Inspirat de evenimente reale, serialul ilustreaza cum, confluenta dintre munca politista si gandirea matematica pot duce la revelatii neasteptate si la obtinerea raspunsurilor la cele mai complexe intrebari de natura criminala.Agentul FBI, Don Epps , nu poate fi mai diferit de fratele sau mai mic, Charlie Epps , un matematician stralucit, care tanjeste sa-si impresioneze fratele de cand era mic. Don este asistat in cadrul serviciului sau de catre echipa sa, compusa din Agentul Megan Reeves, un profiler care ofera o perspectiva psihologica asupra investigatiilor, Agentul David Sinclair, care isi foloseste perspectiva unica si instinctele de supravietuire obtinute de pe urma copilariei sale in cartierul Bronx si Agentul Colby Granger, care este proaspat intors dintr-o misiune de lunga durata in cadrul Armatei Statelor Unite. Charlie este asistat in oferirea perspectivei matematice de colegul sau fizician de la CalSci, Dr. Larry Fleinhardt si de Amita Ramanjuan, una din fostele sale eleve.Reticienta initiala afisata de echipa FBI, cu privire la metodele folosite de Charlie, dispare pe masura ce se doveste valoarea acestora in rezolvarea cazurilor criminale.
