2K Games, Venom Games si Human Head Studios prezinta Prey, un shooter sf care contine extraterestri,spirite, animale mistice si ceva inovator:portale prin care atat jucatorii cat si extraterestrii pot trece. Jucatorii vor fi pusi in rolul lui Tommy, un fost soldat Cherokee care s-a intors pe pamanturi linistite pentru a-i oferi prietenei sale o viata mai buna si linistita. In fine au fost dusi de val .. dar nu in modul cum isi planuisera. Ei sunt rapiti de extraterestri iar Tommy trebuie sa gaseasca o modalitate de a scapa de pe nava inainte ca ei sa devina sclavii lor. Din fericire in toata nava sunt o multime de arme extraterestre imprastiate la intamplare, arme de care Tommy se foloseste la maxim. In timp ce jocul avanseaza Tommy ajunge in lumea spiritelor unde se intalneste cu bunicul sau care il va invata cum sa-si foloseasca spiritul, de asemenea aici el isi va intalni calauzitorul spiritului si anume un uliu care se va intoarce cu el pe nava si il va ajuta in lupta contra inamicilor si in rezolvarea puzzle-urilor. Portalurile distractive de asemenea si unele locatii de pe nava unde gravitatia isi face de cap purtandu-i pe Tommy si pe extraterestri in lupte pe tavan sau sub scari. Prey isi invita jucatorii la o experienta stiintifico-fantastica salbatica cu adevarat unica, distractiva si provocatoare. Prey tells the story of Tommy, a Cherokee garage mechanic stuck on a reservation going nowhere. His life changes when an otherworldly crisis forces him to awaken spiritual powers from his long-forgotten birthright. Abducted along with his people to a menacing mothership orbiting Earth, he sets out to save himself and his girlfriend and eventually his planet.Prey is serious, dark story, based on authentic Cherokee mythology. Themes of sacrifice, love and responsibility are explored and the story dives into emotional territory not yet explored by similar games.
Overview
In Prey, gamers enter an unpredictable world where nothing can be taken for granted. Most of the game takes place within a living ship, a giant entity that can sense and react to Tommy’s presence.Prey makes use of Joseph’s Campbell’s renowned story structure, “The Hero’s Journey,” for guiding the main character arc. Campbell’s extensive work on mythological story progression was made famous when George Lucas used it for Luke Skywalker’s story arc in the original Star Wars.
